    While buying a home is innately stressful, I believe that your realtor should not be the primary source of your stress. Once our leasing agreement was signed, it became nearly impossible to get in contact with Jason. We listed our house, heard nothing for three days, and then were informed we had three offers. Jason did not provide the specific details of the other two offers (or any of the offers in writing) and encouraged us to take the highest offer. Although we expressed our anxiety about taking the complicated offer after only three days on the market, Jason said we were going to lose out if we did not accept. From the beginning, Jason was aware that we could only settle after a specific date. He told us that the buyers would need to take early possession of our home and initially told us an early possession date that was three days before our needed settlement date, so we accepted the offer. That date quickly transformed into two weeks early, then nearly a full month early. We had to move out of our home with only a week’s notice, rent storage units, and pay both our rents and our mortgage for a month, which costs us thousands of dollars, due to our realtor’s lack of communication and inattention to detail. It seemed like Jason prioritized closing on the deal over our clearly-communicated needs. Lastly, after the agreement of sale and inspection were completed, we could not get in touch with Jason for 18 days despite repeated phone calls, emails, and text messages. Thank goodness for Lauri on the team – she was extremely helpful and really came through for us. At one point, we had to go to Jason’s office and physically wait for him to show up because we had settlement in only a couple days and he was unresponsive. I could continue listing the many additional issues we encountered with Jason. While we are grateful that we settled and received full asking price for our home, the experience was truly a nightmare. This is the third time I have bought or sold a home and there are many wonderful, helpful, attentive, moral realtors out there so I would strongly encourage others to select someone else.
