    I contacted John Herreid for advice about selling my home in March of 2024. My 35 year old son and I live in the house. We have lived there since 2001. John prepared a professional market evaluation to estimate the price for which I could probably expect to sell and briefed me on the current market conditions. Despite the fact that he would possibly be losing a commission, he also suggested that selling may not be the best solution for us. Instead he suggested that if I could possibly transfer or share ownership with my son, that might be a better option for me. He also told me that finding out if and how that could legally be accomplished would require the advice of a real estate attorney. He then provided me with the name and contact information for an attorney. After consulting with the attorney, we decided to follow that recommendation. I think this demonstrates that John's first interest is in finding what is best for his clients, not in making the most money. If you are looking for a realtor who will perform his fiduciary duty and look out for your best interests, I strongly recommend John Herreid

    John and I were members of Business Network International in Media, PA for 14 years. Our group met weekly for the purposes of referring business to one another. He was our Real Estate member. I was the investment representative for Merrill Lynch for the first several years. I later changed to Stifel Investment Services, with whom I am still affiliated. John represented me in the sale of my mother's house. There were some challenges because of deferred maintenance. John handled these challenges and his expertise led to a fair price in a short period of time. John was also the educational coordinator for our BNI chapter for a two year period. It was his responsibility to make a 3 to 5 minute presentation on a professional topic that would be of interest to all of the 40 or so members of the group. He always came prepared and made an interesting presentation. If you have a need to make a residential real estate transaction, I recommend John without hesitation.

    We had the pleasure of engaging John to assist us in both buying our current home and selling our former home. In finding our house to buy, John exceeded our expectations at all levels. He is highly attentive to details, attended each and every meeting at the house, inspections with the several different types of inspector’s , followed up with us promptly with any questions we had and was the quintessential professional throughout. Our transactions saw us making an offer on one house and obtaining an inspection with unfavorable news. Despite John’s losing a considerable commission he candidly advised us about the risks involved if we went forward. We then found the original house we wanted to buy that went back on the market. John swiftly engaged the seller’s agent, met us at the house that same night and was by our side throughout. I must add also that it was determined that the sellers agent was not candid, made misrepresentations that all but sabotaged the deal. John involved the broker in his agency and ultimately the transaction was finalized. John then listed our prior home whereby we had 4 offers in 4 days and sold it swiftly. John’s assistant and team were also outstanding. I would recommend John unconditionally for either/both the sale or purchase of your home.”

    We were first contacted by John Herreid, Keller Williams Real Estate when we were looking for a realtor to list and sell our house on Church Road in Oreland, PA. We chose John over several others because: We liked his use of technology, especially video in his communications We felt that he had a superior marketing program, particularly his use of the Internet. We listed the house for sale with John in late May. At the same time, we enlisted his help in finding a new home. We located a house we wanted to buy in Abington, on which there was a competitive offer. Through John's creative inclusion of a price escalation addendum in our offer and his negotiations with the sellers, we were the successful buyers. John guided us through the inspection processes and we had settled all contingencies in short order. At the same time, John and one of his associates at Keller Williams had arranged for the rental of our house in Oreland. Unfortunately, my employer had a cutback and my job was eliminated. At that point in time, John worked with the sellers and the agent for our renters and found ways to undo the agreements he had just finished putting together. He managed to arrange this with no penalties for us. New employment was found in short order and we listed the house again with John in late December, 2019 for $340,000. In only 20 days we had an agreement for $330,000 (97% of the list price). Average days on market for the township is 66. John guided us through the inspection and negotiation processes and we had a smooth settlement. John also assisted us in the search and selection of our next home at in Downingtown. He negotiated a price that was $9,900 lower than the last list price of $417,900 (98% of the list price when average % of list price is 103%; by that measure, we paid almost $21,000 under the average). The price we paid was also $7,000 less than what appeared to be an identical unit 2 doors away. John also guided us through the inspection and mortgage processes and we had another smooth settlement. John's professional ethics are above reproach. His negotiating skills are excellent. His business and engineering background give him a data driven approach to business which is a big help in making sure that his clients get deals made with attractive terms. We recommend him for either buying or selling a house.
