*AVOID THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT GROUP AT ALL COSTS* (Long story) My roommates and I moved into our apartment last year and it has been nothing but headaches and problems from start to finish. We were the first tenants in building and they didn’t complete renovations, install electric meters or have the city inspect the building before allowing us to move in. They told us we had to abruptly leave the building because the city had to inspect the building and we would be fined if we didn’t comply. That was the first red flag. The manager Melissa never responded to any of our concerns unless it involved money. Over a long period of time other tenants started to move in and some units were occupied. We had no problems with the other tenants until they decided to move some loud, ignorant section 8 people directly above our unit which became a complete nightmare. When we signed the lease there was nothing about section 8 vouchers being accepted at this property but because they messed up on their investment and couldn’t get full occupancy they started renting to anyone. The lady above my apartment was extremely ignorant, loud and dirty. Her trash would be all over the place and she would track dog poop throughout the building. She also had a huge pit bull that would run back and forth throughout the night which caused me to not get any sleep for months. My roommates and I tried having a civil conversation with her but she was so loud and ignorant it wasn’t effective and almost on the verge of becoming physical. She had people live there that wasn’t on the lease even though the lease says you can’t have any adult live with you who isn’t on the lease so there was some new shady person in the building every day. There would be domestic violence going on up there every day and the cops had to be called multiple times. We reached out to mercury real estate group more times than I can count and when they rarely responded they kept saying the same response “we’re trying everything we can”. I’ve been here for a year and I can honestly say this was the worst renting experience of my life. I don’t feel safe at the property and I don’t see things changing anytime soon so I decided to leave. They didn’t help with any of my requests and it’s unfortunate because I work hard for my money to pay rent and get a piece of mind. Just for them to make the building accessible to ignorant, loud section 8 people who were homeless before moving here all because THEY took a loss on THEIR investment and they want me to just “deal with it” or move. Very unprofessional management group I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do business with them…. PS: there’s still no electric meters on the property and it’s been well over a year. Not sure if that’s legal but I’m sure they don’t care.

Very unresponsive, rude, uneducated property managers. The owner is content with their behavior. The fixtures take forever to get completed after they are reported, they violate the law in terms of the lease agreement. Do not lease, rent, or buy anything with them. This is one of the work places to do business with in Philly, Landlords should not use their services. Mercury Real Estate Group SUCKS!

AVOID THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY. They never address your concerns, they lie when they show you the property, the properties need so much work, they refuse to properly fix anything. Melissa one of the managers is impossible to get a hold of. I doubt her email is even real. They constantly break the law by not getting issues fixed in the LEGAL amount of time. This is the worst and most unprofessional management company I have ever rented from. If you rent from this company have a lawyer on hand cos odds are you are going to need use them at some point. This company should not be operating until they are ready to take on the responsibility it takes to be property owners renting to the public.

I hate sharing poor reviews, but in this case I feel a duty to inform others of the poor experience we have had renting through Mercury. We have had several maintenance issues, including a leaking roof, broken ceiling fan, worn washer, failing dishwasher, and two instances of our HVAC going out. Of course none of these are the direct fault of Mercury. Appliances simply wear out over time. The problems come with the poor response time from the company. Several of the above maintenance issues took over a week, and in some cases well over a month, to be responded to (not fixed, just responded to). I understand these delays can happen for various reasons. But our latest maintenance issue has become concerning and extremely hazardous. Our HVAC completely went out, and within two days a maintenance guy came to check it out. He unfortunately wasn't able to fix it, and there was discussion of replacing the unit entirely. It took another two weeks before we were told that management wanted a second quote. Second maintenance guy came out (didn't call us before showing up), and presumably quoted the request back to management. Another week goes by and we finally have confirmation that it's being replaced. But after asking for a direct phone # for maintenance so I can coordinate letting them in the house (we had to leave because it's 92 in the house), they have refused to provide me with a number. So we are in limbo trying to figure out if we'll actually get a call from maintenance so I can actually coordinate the installation with them. My life and my family's life has been completely uprooted due to this issue. While it's no one's fault that the HVAC went out, it's certainly on Mercury for the constant delays in response. They would not have even GIVEN us responses if we had not been proactively reaching out every day. I am grossly disappointed in this experience. I understand if this cannot be fixed quickly, but the lack of communication that I am experiencing is completely unacceptable.

My experience with Tim from Mercury Real Estate Group was very pleasant and supportive. He did his best to help me find a place that fit my budget and needs. I was unable to find a place through Tim because I needed to stay around Worcester. Otherwise, I would have been thrilled to work through this process. It's not often that you can find someone who works directly with the public and stays friendly, helpful and continues yo follow up and connect. Great person offering exceptional services.
