In October of last year, I relocated from Florida to Philadelphia. I had signed a lease at 3838 Baring St under the agreement that if I was accepted into my graduate program, my lease would extend. Despite being accepted into my program and after only living in the unit for THREE months, I received a Lease Termination Email. The reason for the termination was that the landlord's SON wanted to move into my unit. The landlord reiterated that I was a good tenant but at the end of the day, these units are 'intended for his family and children' which essentially means that he will kick you out at any time. After pleading and begging for alternative options, he decided to offer me a partial refund for my last month of rent. However, it was not nearly enough to account for the emotional, mental, and financial hardship that I took on due to his decision. I took on thousands of dollars of debt moving in the first place, then a few months later had to start from scratch, began apartment hunting again, and save up another few thousand dollars to pay for the first, last, and security for the new unit that I had to find. Meanwhile, I had not even recovered from my original move from Florida. All of this because the landlord values spoon-feeding his adult children rather being an ethical landlord to his tenants. This was one of the most difficult times in my life and I was met with nothing but selfishness, a lack of understanding, and mockery. The landlord is Sidney Palmer and the Leasing Agent was Colin McCann. The only person I had good interactions with was Jon Urbany.

Jonathan urbany was very uncooperative with setting a showing and had to fish for an appointment in a week … I was 10-15 mins late because my partner had a last min emergency in his company and while I was driving I was updating him I was almost at the property. Once I was there he wasn’t responsive to messages or even there, mind you I left my job early so he didn’t get a no show …. Full of himself

She sent us lots of properties in different areas and really helped us find what we were looking for. She also represented us when working with difficult landlords/agents and worked in our best interests. We were able to find a perfect property for us and we couldn’t have done it without her!
